Kernel Engineer

Job Description:

1. Maintenance and upgrade of the Linux kernel on Kuaishou’s internal servers;

2. Perform performance tuning on the Linux kernel in alignment with the service’s characteristics.

3. Research and application of new kernel technologies;

4. Research and improvement of container-related technologies.

Job Requirements:

1. Proficient in the Linux kernel, with at least one of the following major subsystems—memory management, the I/O subsystem, or the network subsystem—whose source code you have thoroughly studied.

2. Proficient in C programming on the Linux platform, with expertise in multi-process and multi-threaded programming, as well as socket programming.

3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong passion for tackling challenging problems;

4. Priority will be given to candidates who have contributed patches to the open-source kernel community.

5. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset, coupled with a meticulous work ethic and a commitment to high quality.

6. Eager to learn new knowledge, strong hands-on skills, and highly motivated.
